Welcome to the home page of Steve Dormer Photography. Steve is a Midlands based semi retired professional photographer. Who nowadays spends his time on the photography he enjoys most.
Living in Northampton, Steve is centrally located to pursue his passion for travel and landscape photography. He travels throughout Europe and the UK and enjoys meeting people and admiring and sharing images with other photographers through the power of social media.
Photo Artistry is the corner stone of Steve’s work, albeit he recognises the importance of getting it right in the camera first time; his work often displays the look and feel of a painting. He admires the creativity and skills of artists who produces wonderful works of art which Steve’s tries to emulate in his own photographic work.
Steve shoots all his images in a 16:9 format, not for any particular reason but feels that it gives a greater balance to the image. However, recognising the difficulty sometimes encountered in composing an image.
Using the Fuji Pro 1 he feels this to be the perfect camera for his type of photography. Since owning the camera, he feels his photography has improved because the camera makes you think before taking an image. It is relatively light and along with two lenses fit neatly into a shoulder bag. You can easily mix with locals in any country and not feel you are flaunting expensive camera gear in front of them, and it allows you terrific opportunities to be discrete in your photography.
Steve enjoys his active membership on Northampton Camera Club and act as a judge at
various competitions around the photographic clubs of Northampton and Leicestershire.
